HYDROCAL

HYDROCAL Gypsum Cement is the same as white HYDROCAL Gypsum  Cement except for color, which is pale grey..   Manufactured at Ft.Dodge, Iowa, only.

White HYDROCAL Gypsum Cement

White HYDROCAL, a basic  general use HYDROCAL gypsum cement that is probably the whitest gypsum cement on the market. It offers a gradual setting time (25 to 35 minutes) and a long period of plasticity . White HYDROCAL is recomended for both solid casting and hollow casting of such items as lamp bases and figurines.   Especially designed for thin sections, which require high green stength to minimize breakage during removal from an intricate latex mold. It can be carved or added to and is quite frequently used by hobbyists such as in model train layouts where it is tinted with dry pigments.     White HYDROCAL should be mixed at a consistancy  of 45 lbs. water to 100 lbs. gypsum cement.      The setting expansion is somewhat greater than A-11 or B-11 and is  about twice that of moulding plaster or pottery plaster.  It has greater strength than HYDROCAL A-11 or B-11.  Manufactured at theSouthard, Oklahoma plant only.

Statuary HYDROCAL Gypsum Cement

Statuary HYDROCAL Gypsum Cement is a very strong type of HYDROCAL.  It is harder  and stroger than White HYDROCAL Gypsum Cement . When mixed at the recommended 40 consistancy, it offers not only hardness and strength but plasticity.  These properties make it  especially adaptable for solid or hollow - art casting.

HYDROCAL A-11

HYDROCAL A-11 is a high strength gypsum cement with a low setting expansion. It is adaptable to the production of hard, strong, tough patterns and duplicator models. HYDROCAL A-11 has a shorter period of plasticity and stiffens more rapidly than B-11 and it sets in approximately 20 minutes after mixing.

HYDROCAL B-11

HYDROCAL B-11 has a low setting expansion, a high degree of plasticity, a gradual setting action, and is specifically designed for making die sinking patterns by the splash cast technique and original loft template models. HYDROCAL B-11 gypsum cement sets in approximately 30 minutes after mixing, which provides ample time for built-up work.

Pattern Shop HYDROCAL

A gypsum cement with a moderately low setting expansion particularly suited for pattern and model making by the plastic stage forming techniques. Its long period of plasticity makes it ideal for template work. It can be used as a general purpose gypsum cement that can be screeded, carved or worked otherwise in a semi-set state. It has a lower strength and less hardness than the other HYDROCAL cements but considerably more than the so called "soft plasters"   (Moulding Plaster).

High Expansion HYDROCALGypsum Cement

Medium High Expansion HYDROCAL Gypsum Cement A product formulated to give a uniform expansion of a pattern in all directions equal to the shrinkage of aluminum or zinc alloy metals, (kirkasite , zamac, etc.).  It is somewhat stronger than regular high expansion and is colored yellow for identification.  Normal range is 1/16" inch to 3/16" growth to the foot.
